One thing to make clear at the outset, because the name invites confusion: this is not a game. There are no rules and no deck to build. It is a collectible series, and it should be judged on that ground, the ground of artwork and rarity.

The characters

The series features 98 Pudgy Penguins and 38 Lil Pudgy. Each penguin is treated with its own personality and its own story, rather than mechanically derived from a single template. That is what gives depth to a universe which, on paper, amounts to a round silhouette and an orange beak.

Pudgy Penguins began as a digital collection and became a brand in its own right, with physical products and a worldwide community. This card series belongs to that movement: it gives tangible existence to characters that had none.

What a box guarantees

Every box holds 1 to 4 numbered cards on limited print runs. That is the floor: whatever happens, you walk away with at least one limited piece.

The card types to chase

Twenty-four families, among them the World Tour subsets and the Theme cards, which carry most of the artwork.

Above those sit the Black Cards and the Autograph Cards, signed by Luca Netz, the head of Pudgy Penguins. An executive's signature rather than an athlete's or an actor's: unusual in the hobby, and telling about the culture this brand comes from.
